Emfuleni Local Municipality launches 100 days programme

05 August 2011 - As part of our commitment to keep in touch with the community and also ensuring that issues affecting our communities are addressed, the Emfuleni Local Municipality will be launching its 100 days plan of action. The Plan is also aimed at ensuring that the political leadership is measured on performance of the Municipality on a quarterly basis.

15 July 2011 - The Executive Mayor of the Emfuleni Local Municipality Councillor Greta Hlongwane, Members of the Mayoral Committee, Speaker and the Chief Whip will lead the Municipality’s employees as they give 67 minutes of their time on Monday 18 July in support of Mandela Day. This will be done through a series of activities or projects planned for the Mandela Day by the Emfuleni Local Municipality (ELM). These activities will be spread across the municipal area in an attempt to touch all corners of our communities.

12 July 2011 - The Emfuleni Local Municipality (ELM) will on Monday 18 July join the rest of the world in an international campaign for Mandela Day. The Day will give South Africans and the international community an opportunity to do something good to help others in recognition of Mandela’s decades of sacrifice for humanity. The Campaign has been initiated by the Nelson Mandela Foundation and related organisations. The day is also a birthday celebration of our Former President Nelson Mandela as he will be turning 92 on the day.

Emfuleni Youth in Dialogue

29 June 2011 - The Executive Mayor of Emfuleni Local Municipality Cllr Greta Hlongwane, as part of the 100 days plan of action, will convene a “Youth in Dialogue” that will be representative of young people in Emfuleni. The theme for the dialogue will be “Youth Action for Economic Freedom in our lifetime”. The dialogue will lay a foundation for a Youth Summit which the Executive Mayor is planning for later this year.
