Warrants of arrest
If an accused failed to meet any or all the obligations set forth by the court, the magistrate will authorize a warrant of arrest. This will result in the arrest of such accused by any peace officer.
The magistrate will authorize a warrant of arrest when:
- The accused failed to appear in Court on the specified Court date.
- The accused failed to pay the admission of guilt specified on the “ticket” (notice to appear in Court or a summons).
- The accused failed to comply with the conditions of bail.
- The accused failed to comply with the ruling of the Court.

Please note that all payments on warrants of arrest include an additional amount of R150-00 for contempt of Court apart from the fine amount.
