| The newly appointed Premier of Gauteng, Mr. Paul Mashatile
kick-started his Imbizo programme by visiting Emfuleni
Local Municipality. He went on a door to door visit in
Sharpeville, Putswastene where he interacted with residents
and listened to their needs. Congress.

elects a new Executive Mayor |

| The Emfuleni Council elected Mr. Sithole Assistance
Mshudulu, in a special council meeting held on 31 July
2008. The Executive Mayor was warmly received by various
political parties including the Democratic Alliance and
Pan Africanist Congress.
